Herve Van Der Straeten Parisian Style

Back in November 2007,  I purchased my trusty issue of Architectural Digest Espana.   This is the issue that I continued to drool over on a regular basis because of the quality of the interiors chosen, and I have been a devoted follower ever since!  If I could only read Spanish!
Note to self:  learn Spanish!

One of my faves is that of Parisian art dealer,
Herve Van Der Straeten a man who apparently is a brilliant multi tasking style guru who designs furniture, jewelry, lighting and perfume bottles for
 Dior, Guerlain, and YSL.
His apartment is testament to the inspiring choices he makes, and the wonderful art he represents.
Please enjoy!

Adore the teal gilded sofa!

Love the bang of orange in the sculpture by Xavier Vielhan against the natural leather sofa!

Beautiful mobile by Xavier Vielhan

Dining table wonderful with those chairs and skull sculpture by Xavier Vielhan

Love the little pop of yellow in the chairs

What a wonderful twist doing the Le Corbusier LC2's in that wonderful green upholstery!

Peter Marino and Anselm Reyle Rock this Interior!

I was recently blown away by an incredible art overload to the senses. I recently spied this Palm Beach, Florida interior in Architectural Digest France.
This interior, designed by New York based uber art, architect guru, and one time designer
to Andy Warhol, Peter Marino is almost surreal.

Featuring a plethora of incredible contemporary works from such art stars as Anselm Reyle,
Guy LimoneDamien Hirst, and Richard Prince,  I do wish we could see more of this calibre of art in the shelter magazines.

Please enjoy these images from Architectural Digest France December 2010-January 2011.

What an incredible array of shiny surfaces!  The Anselm Reyle art work stars in this dining room.

Marcelo Lucini's Buenos Aires Apartment - So Chic!

Architectural Digest Espana and Architectural Digest France have both recently been compelled to present an interior that I first saw in Vogue Living Australia back in Sept/Oct 2009 issue.

This wonderful home in exotic Buenos Aires, Argentina owned by designer Marcelo Lucini, impresses me for it's discerning choice of art, vintage pieces from the 1920's through to 1970's, and the unusual colour palette used throughout this 1930's apartment.

I am particularly enamored with the Expressionist seascape painting by Argentinian artist Felipe Noe hanging above the 1960's console and the empire furniture in the dining area with the walls which are painted in a soft muscatel.

Wonderful empire furniture contrasts wonderfully with the abstract painting and 1950's atomic light

Loving the expressionist art with the 1960's console and industrial stools from the 1920's

Unusual choice of pale grape/muscatel wall colour with the pale honey parquetry floors

Another great painting!

Great pop floor sculpture and Fornasetti chair

Loving the grey and gold palette.  Crazy fringed stools look fab!
Marcelo Lucini sources objects and homewares from around his country Argentina. The range can be seen at Couture Lab
